How Long Rabekind 20 Can Be Used?

hello doctor,
i am given rabekind 20 seven year back when i got acidity as a result of treatment of my knee fracture.now also i am continuing rabekind 20(only) as i feel better with that tablet. can use this tablet this many years? any side effects?

It is always advisable not to use not only this but also any other tablet unless advised by doctor.
Though in case of rabekind which contains the rabeprazole there are very few side effects of it it better to avoid as far as possible. you can take the tablet as and when needed.
It acts as antacid so there many other ways to tide over the acidity such as change of food habits, avoidance of spicy and oily food, having curd or buttermilk after which should be followed.
The rabeprazole is usually safe and dose not cause much side effects but its regular intake for so long is not advisable. In rare instances this may lead to gastric atrophy.
So change your habits drink plenty of water and keep rabekind as, as and when needed option.
