If blood was drawn to determine heart enzymes 10 hours ago, should results be back by now? How long does it usually take?

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.
These days, instant assays are available which can tell the level of troponins in the blood. Troponins are cardiac enzymes which are elevated in patients with heart attack. Further, all assays should be back within 10 hours but it would depend on the lag time at various stages of processing the sample.
Hope this helps.
