How Long Internal Stitches Take To Dissolve And Heal?

hi doctor ..I have had injury in my right leg on 26 July 2014 due to glass cut and the doctor made about 20 stitches on the out skin and 2 internal stitches for soleus muscle (as doctor declare to me)..now the wound almost is healed but i still have swelling around my calf right area especially when i stand or set for a short time and have pain when i try to move my foot down while i stand or move my foot toes up... my question is how long it take to internal stitches to dissolve and heal? and when i can return to my normal life walking without limbing? ...my doctor told me to return tom my normal life in case of walking and exercising ...thank you doctor

I am sorry to hear about your injury. You are concerned about the internal sutures and how long will it take to heal from the injury. From the sounds of the suturing the deep stitches will take several weeks to fully dissolve. The actually healing may also take several weeks to a couple of months. Since you continue to walk and use your leg muscles it will take more time to heal.

I think that this is related to a drier mouth and change in bacteria flora. Try Biotene to help oral health and improve moisture. Give it time to work
