How Long Does Tobacco Remain In The Body?

I quit chewing tobacco 2 weeks ago. I bought some cotinine urine tests to use at home and they are still showing positve. I did not chew tobacco very often. Everything I have read says it leaves your body within 2 to 4 days. Is my body not metabolizing correctly?

Hello,
Welcome to Healthcare Magic.

Yes, usually test are negative after 1 week use in occasional user. But in your case test is positive even after 2 weeks of abstinence.

In such case you need to repeat test as some time false positive reports are possible. Same time follow all the instruction correctly to minimize chances of false positive result. Also get Liver and Kidney function test to rule out metabolic problem.

Wishing you good health and all the best.
