How Long Does It Take To Recover From Brain Stroke Especially The Speech ?
Hi, My Mom has under gone a Brain stroke on 25th Sep 2010 (Left side Blood clot), and after staying for about 21.days in the hospital she had been brought back to home...Earlier she was not able to move her right legs, hand, and her speach is also not proper (Voice is present, but cant speak as we do), 8.months has passed now, still she is not able to speak properly, but have seens some improvement in right side of her leg movement and now she use to walk with the help of stick, but right hand is still not in motion, can you advice how long it will take more to recover, specifically her speach?

Hi,
Speech control centre ( Broca's area ) is situated on left side of brain, as there is damage on left side so speech is improper. But as clot will disappear and part will healed speech and movement will restored. Time depened on damage area. Hope within a year she will recovered.

Hi,thanks for your query.The recovery in such cases can take months together.The damage to the brain which has occurred due to clot is the reason for this.You do not have any option,just continue the drugs as advised,keep blood pressure and diabetes under control.Time is the only remedy and high degree of patience is required in such cases.bye.

This depends on physio therapy and levels of blood sugar and hypertension. Along with this proper medication is to be administered. balanced diet is a must.
