How long does it take to get the results back from a cardiac catheterization? The reason I m asking is because my father-in-law is having it done today, but they said they won t have the results until tomorrow. Does that make sence to you?
If I would have waited till the next day, well, I would not be answering this question. 100% Blocked LAD. Found and repaired all in one swoop. Thank God for that!!
It doesn't make since to me, but i'm not a Doctor. Keep asking questions untill you get an answer you understand, if they get annoyed by your asking, get another Doctor.

It has been 2 months my voice has been hoarse after surgery (cardiac cath) i ve been to an ENT therapist and he had a look at my vocal cords and said the left vocal cord nerves are very inflamed. He said it could take up to a whole year for my voice to come back. I m extremely upset about this because I hate going to school with a stupid voice like this. Everyone laughs at it. Even the teacher looked like she was about to laugh. I m actually crying about it while typing this. I feel so sad about it and no one is even helping me. I can barely talk and have to whisper to be heard. How can I go on like this for a year. I know there are a lot more people who are worse off but I just feel like crying.

I have WPW and had cardiac catheterization done on 4 out of 5 pathways. I still have one left (they were unable to convert it into fast rhythm when I was having the procedure done some 14 yrs ago. Lately (the past year or two) this fifth one kicks in every now and then. It may happen 2-4 times a week, lasting 5-10 seconds. Is this something that can be left untreated or does it pose a danger to my health, should I go back to my cardiologist and have it fixed. I feel I could live with this but do not want to jeopardize my health. I am a 47 yr old otherwise healthy female.

I had a cardiac catheterization which showed normal systolic function, tandem severe mid LAD lesions with severe Diagonal disease, small diseased Left Circumflex; and very distal branch vessel disease of large RCA. I am taking all recommended meds and cardiologist is recommending I consider PTCA of the LAD. Would the PTCA improve my quality and length of life? What is recuperation from PTCA like?
