I have been smoking about 3 to 4 cigarettes per day for a few months, but intermittently will stop for a few days at a time sometimes. I have a urine cotitine test in about 7 days. I work out regularly (3 to 5 times per week) and eat relatively healthy. Do you believe I will pass this test? Also, what would you suggest I do to ensure I will pass? Thank you.
Nicotine, about the time till you need another cigarette (short) which is why they do not test for it but the breakdown product of it (Cotinin). It is flushed out, so the rate depends on kidney flow.
It is about 15 hours until half of the Cotinin leaves. So, the time depends on how much is there and how low the test is. Generally 5 days.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
