Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i was on nexplanon from 7/13/2015 to 5/3/2016. i had spotting during the time i was on the birth control. me and my boyfriend have have been trying to conceive since then and no luck . my periods are back to normal and come accordingly. how long does it suppose to take for it to leave you system? should i be worried?
NEXPLANON can be removed at any time by your health care provider during the 3-year period, but must be removed by the end of the third year. Removal of NEXPLANON involves a minor surgical procedure in which your health care provider makes a small incision in your arm where NEXPLANON is located.
The time it takes for your body to return to normal after any hormonal birth control is different for every woman. It takes a little while for the Implanon to leave your system, that is normal. Though, company claims return of fertility as early as 3 weeks after implant is removed, many women don’t find this otherwise. Keep taking pregnancy tests, especially if you’re sexually active.
Weight loss and fertility go hand in hand. Even little weight loss can change your odds dramatically. I would suggest you to meet an expert who can guide you properly before it’s too late. You'll need to talk to your doctor about this.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. MUHAMMAD HAMMAD
