How Long Does Marijuana Stay In The Body During Pregnancy?

I live in Oklahoma and my son is due in 5 weeks. I have smoked marijuana throughout my whole pregnancy. I am worried that when I give birth I will get in trouble for testing positive for marijuana. What are the consequences in my state for having it in my system at the time of birth? Do they even test for it?

Hi,

The effects of THC may only last a few hours but may linger in the body tissues for 30 days and sometimes longer. Most counties in Oklahoma do not report positive drug screens to DHS but drug screens are only done if drug use is suspected. It is considered child endangerment to use drugs while pregnant and a woman can be prosecuted for it.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
