How long does HCTZ stay in the body?

HCTZ causes me to urinate. How long does this last with my daily dose. I am not sure if my needing to urinate is caused by the HCTZ or just my age. I am not sure what is the latest time I should take HCTZ if I have to go out early for an appointment. thanks,

Approximately 3.5 days. Incomplete data like age, gender, dose, and purpose of taking HCTZ? The plasma elimination half-life of hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ) is about six to fifteen hours. If we take the longest half-life of fifteen hours, then it would take about 82.5 hours approximately 3.5 days, for HCTZ to be cleared from your system.

Increased frequency of urination can also be due to urine infection, diabetes, or prostatic enlargement. So, you need to consult your treating doctor for further evaluation and to carry out certain lab tests such as urine analysis, blood glucose or ultrasound to rule out other causes of increased urination.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
