How Long Do Swelling And Pain In Foot Take To Alleviate?
my 17 year old daughter tied her dance shoes too tight and danced for 2 hours and now her left foot hurts very much. there was swelling and a little bruise. How long will it take for her to be able to not feel pain anymore and dance again. we put ice on it and she only rests it at night. she can walk on it but again just experiencing pain only in the one foot.
Since your daughter is experiencing pain and has bruised her left foot. You are suggested to get her clinically examined by an Orthopedics, get X-ray, MRI done to detect any fracture or tendon / ligament tear. She will be treated accordingly. She may need a crepe bandage for relieve.
Do not let her strain the feet unnecessarily. She should stay at rest, You can apply pain relieving ointment gently. You can give her Acetaminophen, one stat when needed to ease pain. To reduce bruise, any blood clots, swelling and inflammation on the affected foot apply ointment Thrombophop for relief.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
