How Long Can Pause MF Be Taken For Heavy Menstrual Bleeding And Cramps?

Iam taking pause mf under medical advice for the last 4 months for very heavy menstual bleeding and severe cramps. I am 42. How long can I take it? What are the side effects? Since it only help to clot the blood, does continuous use over months lead to endometrium thickness?

Hi,
Thanks for the query.
Pause mf contains tranexamic acid and mefanamic acid.
You can use for 3 to 4 days in one month to control the bleeding.
But you should not use continuously through out the month.
That may lead to coagulation abnormalities.
And side effects like nausea, vomitings, nervousness etc.
Instead of that you can go for progesterone pills to regularize the menstrual cycles with your doctor's advice.
So, consult your gynecologist, go for ultrasound and coagulation profile.
Then plan the management according to your doctor's advice.
Take care.

Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum.
The reason for the heavy bleeding is the anemia, and infection, besides the harmonal problems.
I advise you to consult a gynecologist for diagnosis and treatment. Regarding the duration of the pause MF depends upon the doctors choice. So you can ask your doctor.
I usually prescribe to my patient with such symptoms fluconazole, cifixime, and iron preparations.
Take more of green leafy vegetables, pulses, sprouts, and
protein rich foods to have a comfortable life.
Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
