How Long Can Emeset Syrup Be Used For A Child With Nausea And Vomiting ?

hello sir,my son age is 2 years 4 months.he is suffering from nausea and vomitings.we are using emeset syrup twice a day 5ml for each dose since yesterday. please let me know howmany days emeset syrup can be used maximum.he is getting loose motions after using the above syrup.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. IT seems that your baby got infection because he is vomiting and having loose motion also. Loose motion is not because of emeset. Its a symptom of infection. So better you start syrup-oflox-OZ 5ml twice in a day along will syrup-Emeset as you are giving but stop it when there is no vomiting.

If he vomits once in a day better you give the dose once only, don't give on regular basis. ORS you give along with other fluids. Once the infection will be controlled all problem will be solved. Good luck.
