Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I m 27years old. 5years i used to take practin and dexona as i was very very skinny and after using these medicine i have gain weight.I have used these medicines for couple of months. Since i was worried for weight loss i use to have these tablets for short intervals after that. I didn t suffered from any side effects. Can i use continue to use practin and dexona??
For weight gain, using of Practin is valid but only for short duration of 3 to 4 months and not more than 1 year and Dexona is corticosteroid which is not recommended for the purpose of gaining weight.
The chronic use of it has many side effects including immune suppression and skin thinning. So practically speaking both medicines are not recommended for the much longer duration. My advice is to stop both medicines.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Hiren Hirpara
