Hallow Dear Keerthi,
WHO has recommended two regimes for medical way of termination of
pregnancy upto 9 weeks of gestation.
1. Tab. Mifepristone to be followed after 24-48 hours by Tab.
Misoprostol in multiple doses.
2. Misoprostol alone: Tab. Misoprostol 800 mcgm every 3-12 hours up to 3 doses.
In both the regimes, usually the termination process starts within 24 hours, but may be upto 72 hours after the last dose of Misoprostol. If the pregnancy does not get terminated, the regime may be repeated, alternative regime may be selected or surgical method may be opted for.
You have taken only one dose of 800 micrograms of Misoprostol. If it has not started the
abortion procedure, it should have been repeated every 3-12 hours for maximum up to 3 doses.
These medicines cause developmental abnormalities in the baby; hence, if they fail, pregnancy should be terminated by surgical method like MVA aspiration.
In fact, these medicines are prescription medicines and should be taken only with a Gynaecologist's advice and prescription.
I hope you got the message.
