How Long After Cataract Surgery Can Tooth Be Extracted?
I had cataract surgery on June 17th, 2015 and now July 1st a tooth needs extraction. I was told I had to wait 6 weeks after cataract surgery to have my tooth extracted. The tooth pain is being treated with tylenol and I'm on antibotics, but not sure I can wait another 6 weeks before pulling this tooth. Was 6 weeks the proper advice?
After cataract surgery it takes almost 5 to 6 weeks for the healing of surgical site and resolution of redness in eye.. Also the anti inflammatory and antibiotic eye drops are given for 6 months with tapering of the dosage weekly.. So inorder to prevent any complications it must be advised to you to wait for 6 weeks before getting tooth extracted.. But in case of severe pain or emergency you can get the extraction done under the consent of your Eye Surgeon..
Hope this helps..
Thanks and regards..
