How Is Mental Retardation Be Determined With The Baby In The Womb?

My daughter is 36 weeks along in her pregnancy, the baby is measuring on 33 weeks now. The Dr. is admitting her into the hospital and mentioned possible mental retardaration. How can he determine this with the baby in the womb. they did do a sonogram

Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. The mental retardation in a Fetus can be predicted in ultrasound only when there is some genetic syndrome, chromosomal anomalies or central nervous system anomalies.Hope you found the answer helpful.
