How Is Folliculitis Treated?

Hi..I m 24 year old female..I had been suffering from numerous boils/folliculitis that used to emerge on the surface of my skin..especially the leg area.Worst part is that these boils left some really really ugly scars over my body.SECONDLY i I have this unwanted facial hair problem and i got one boil on the little ryt area of my neck under my jawline..which though got cured as i had consulted a doctor n he provided me with some anti biotics buh unfortunately, it formed a lump of dead skin which is quite apparant and is indeed realli realli ugly. Therefore i need to know the treatment;medicine or any ointment for :- 1. Removing and vanishing the ugly scars. 2. For the complete removal of lump of dead skin without leaving a mark on my neck.. Please revert back and help!!!!

Hi,

I can understand your concern for having relapsing pyoderma. Consult the dermatologist for the perfect diagnosis and proper treatment. Pyoderma is an infectious skin disease affecting the hair follicles. Staphylococci may be the responsible bacteria. I would recommend a course of heavy antibiotic for about two weeks along with the antiinflammatory drugs. Apply antibiotic cream on the lesions. Improve immunity and hygiene. Repeat the treatment if the disease relapses.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilyas Patel, Dermatologist
