How Is A NuvaRing Used?

I m currently on the nuvaring and I take it out April 3 for my off week and re-insert it April 10. So my next take out day is May 1. I am in the military and I will be in the field starting April 29 to May 12. I am not able to bring a new ring with me since I can t refrigerate it, no electricity. So, am I able to leave it in for 4 weeks and then take it out the 5th week? Or should I take it out after 3 weeks(May 1) and put it back in April 15 and re-start my cycle? I will either have it in for 4 weeks and then an off week or 3 weeks and then 2 weeks without it. Not sure what to do.

Hi,

You should better take it out after 3 weeks & start with oral contraceptive on the 5th day of period &switch over to ring after the next period.

- You keep complete abstinence /use barrier contraceptive for a full month & insert ring after following month cycle.
