There are different types of dementia , in vascular dementia, the mental changes occur due to decreased blood supply in some areas of the brain.
Vascular dementia is not hereditary but there are other types and causes of dementia that are hereditary.
If you have risk factors for vascular dementia eg high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, smoking, then there is a risk of this occurring in you as well.
