How else to treat eczema in neck, back and arms along with applying eczema cream and benadryl cream?

my son has severe eczema on face and arms, after being sunburnt a couple of days ago now his eczema is worst and he has developed a rash on neck, back and arms- he is complaining with the burn on his checks, I have applied his eczema creams to what I can, aloe to his face and benedryl cream to the rash. Can I do anything more?

Hello,

As per your case history of eczema, my treatment advice is -
1. Don't scratch the lesion as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a mild topical steroid cream like mometasone cream on the lesions twice daily.
3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetirizine twice daily for seven to ten days.
4. Other treatment options are oral steroids like prednisone or betamethasone taken only after consulting a dermatologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regard,
Dr. Harshit Bhachech

Hello, I am 13 and have had eczema pretty much since I was 6months. I have it on my face, chest, back, neck, legs, genitals and arms. On my face it doesn t tend to ever be itchy on my nose chin or ears, and those parts are my normal skin colour, light brown. The rest of my face is extremely dark brown, and I am itchy there so often. I use aveeno cream, but it only really moisturises, doesn t really do anything. Me and my mum have been to doctors, dermatologists, they haven t helped at all. They just prescribe creams and steroids which make things worse. I might also add I have hayfever, and eczema runs through the family, but no-one as severe as mine. I fear I m going to have eczema my entire life. My self esteem is extremely low, I am self conscious where ever I go, school or whatever. My face is discoloured like I mentioned and perhaps scary. I really just want to be normal, and live a normal life. Please help.

i have a daughter that is one and a half years old I was told she has eczema and she is a thumb sucker and its really severe around her hands. she literally naws at both her hands even though she only sucks her right thumb she has deep cuts in between her thumb and pointer finger and on the back of her hands. If you look really closely at her hands she has tiny little bumps that almost look like pimples in the area that s aggravated. her pediatrician told me that its her saliva that makes it worse but its been like this ever since she was six months old I have tried all kinds of lotions, creams ,Vaseline s, home remedy s ointments that have been brought from other country s for (eczema) the prescription meds that I got from the doctor have no effect, nothing is working could it be something else?

I had a small case of eczema on the insides of my elbows and just the outsides of my armpits, it has not spread down my arms, legs, neck and back. My doctor told me to use a steroid cream which worked for the small areas but I would rather not lather it all over my body. Is there any way to get rid of it

my 11 year old daughter has brown flaky patches of skin on the back side of her hands. I believe this is eczema so I ve been using vaseline and hydrocortizone. My question is if it is ok or makes sense to lubricate her hands and possibly keep them in a cotton glove or something to maintain the moisture or will this dry them out?
