How Effective Is Taking Truvada Pills For HIV Infection?

i am 27 years of age, my height is 1, 3 metres tall and i weigh 95. i am currently married to an hiv positive man. we had an encounter in february whereby the condom broke. i was immediately given truvada pills for a month. he tested positive in december 2010. i tested immediately in december and after in february. itested negative during during those months. i am now very scared to get tested but i want to. after being given those truvada pills, is there a chance that i may not have contracted the disease?

please help doctor i am very confused

It is a good thing that you were placed on post exposure
prophylaxis.
There is an undoubted success when post exposure prophylaxis
are used. Success rates are close to 100 person unless the post
exposure was not correctly taken; dosage wise or not started
within the required time or not taken for up to a month.

Most post exposure are a combination of three drugs truvada
and another drug effavirenz or aluvia. However, with just truvada,
there is still greater risk of not becoming infected.

You will need to do the testing at three months and six months after
the exposure. But be rest assure, there is greater chance you will be
negative.
