How effective is Apriso for crohn s disease?

hi, I have crohn s disease and am currently taking Apriso - 4 pills (.375mg/pill) and 9mg Entocort. Recently I have noticed that the glands behind my ears r tender to the touch. Could this be a side effect from the Apriso? I just started it about a month ago & the tenderness behind the ears started about 2 wks ago. thanks, Leigh

hello and welcome to health care magic,

You should know that though any drug can cause node enlargement behind the ears which may be the swelling you seem to notice but it is rare with mesalamine or apriso which you are taking. It is more common with entocort which is a steroid. In any case it is more likely to be due to an infection.

You need to start a course of antibiotics like amox-clav in consultation with your doctor and if that does not help then you must take an FNAC of the swelling and get back to me or any ENT with the report
