General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The effect of norethisterone is via withdrawal bleeding as the progesterone support of uterine epithelium is taken back as you stopped the medicine.

Once the menses is started after 3-4 days of medication stoppage, it lasts for 4-5 days and then you get your regular period at the interval of 28 days or so as per your schedule.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Purva Patel,
