How Do You Treat Diarrhea, Vomiting And Low Appetite?

I got sick 3 days ago within 10 minutes of eating a hamburger with a very disgusting sauce on it. I had diariah that night but no vomiting. I since have no appetite and everything I try to eat leaves a sickeningly sweet taste in my mouth. I do not believe I have had any fever but my mouth is extremely dry. I still don t want to eat anything.

Hello,

* Hamberger induced intestine infection usually from E.Coli bacteria.

* Primary guidelines to get the best recovery
- Drink more liquids in sessions.

- Prefer bland, vegan diet

- Proton pump inhibitor as omeprazole, antiemetic as ondansetron to be consumed with sips of water on an empty stomach

- Pro and prebiotics with lactobacillus or sacromycis bullardiasis

- Fresh yogurt and buttermilk for gut soothing

- Need for antibiotic for infection control needs discussion with your treating physician.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
