How Can You Treat The Withdrawal Symptoms After Quitting Smoking?

Hello my name is Natelle. I quit smoking 23 days ago . Starting last Saturday my throat has been hurting. It feels as if there is a lump and I ve been swallowing alot with a little bit of pain. No it doesn t hurt when I eat . But when I go out into the cold my throat tightens, with a lump feel and pain. What can this be and how do I fix it ? I do go to the doctors on November 19th.

Hi,

Cannot say in your particular case, but generally, withdrawal doesn't last that long and a lot of other things can cause those symptoms.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Matt Wachsman, Addiction Medicine Specialist
