If you are asking, what can cause your heart to stop abnormally? Then my answer would be: the sinus node which controls the rate of your heart could pause momentarily, either due to the vagus nerve, or the conduction from the top chamber to the bottom could be blocked and that would cause a lack of the ability for the heart to contract.
