Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 48 years old I am a female I am 40 pounds overweight I retain fluid daily I range 4 to 5 pounds up-and-down weekly how do I get rid of the fluid and I understand everything happens from what you eat and Your gut has a lot to do with illnesses I need a good cleanse and I need to learn how to eat healthier
If a patient like this enters my clinic then I would have performed some basic test on him or her like blood pressure monitoring ECG and RBS random blood sugar because these two are the major reason for the water retention. But if these two are normal, then you being a female I would suggest the ultrasound uterus because many times some uterine or ovary problem causes the same.
And if all this also comes out to be normal. Then the most common reason for it would be some diet problem among it the most common is water quantity consumed per day. It's recommended to consume at least three liters of waters per day and around four liters in summers. And in the food, I would recommend changes like eating the breakfast the heaviest and dinner the lightest especially the beans like kidney beans should be consumed only in the day time.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Medhavi Agarwal
