How Can Trichomoniasis Be Diagnosed?

my fiancé has been incarserated for 5 months. I recently was diagnosed with trich and I haven t had sex sense hes been gone. he said that all of his test came back negative when they did his tests when he first went in. when I told him about my diagnosis he said they reexamined him and the trich test came back negative but they sent off some test for reassurance. I have only been with one man and I know this didn t drop from the sky. Do you know wheather they check inmates for trich in prison when they first arrive?

Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Test for Trichomonas vaginalis is not being anywhere routinely especially in prisons.
In men Trichomonas would persist without any symptoms.Scanty trichomonas would likely to be missed to identify in many instance especially in men.Technicians not experienced with Trichomonas also will not able to identify the organisms. So one or two negative tests for Trichomonas do not rule out the possibility of Trichomonas in him and there is still every possibility for you to get the infection from him.
