How Can Tonsillitis Be Treated?

So on the holidays I got just the common flu, and from that I developed tonsillitis, so I went to the doctor and he prescribed me penicillin 500mg and I had to take 4 tablets everyday for 10 days, taking the antibiotics got rid of my sore throats front he tonsillitis. However I was left with a runny nose and symptoms from the flu, fast forward about a week I managed to get rid of all of the flu symptoms except I was feeling a bit drained, and then 2 days later o have a the flu again but worse now i have a chesty cough too. So what I want to know is if there is any reason I keep getting sick?

Hi,
Welcome to Healthcaremagic.com.

I had gone through your question I can understand your concern about your recurrent viral infection.

Yes there are chances of recurrent viral infections. Because every time there is new strain of virus causing the upper respiratory tract infection.

There are also some symptoms called post viral fatigue where you feel lethargic, lazy, generalized body aches and sleepiness.

As viral infections does not need any medication you must take paracetamol for pain relief and plenty of fluids to be properly hydrated.
In case chest infection aggravates take levofloxin for five days in consultation with your physician.

Hope my answer will help you and you will write to us if you feel any further assistance needed.

Regards
Dr Muzaffer Hussain Parray.
