How can tinnitus and hearing loss be treated?

im a veteran, i had built up ear wax left hear, and because of the blockage, i loss some hearing, the VA cleaned the most of the build up, and asked me to use some special ear drops to clear it the rest of the way. i first noticed it when i was at work, and i stuck a ear bud in my ear for my iphone at the time, and it hurt. and made a popping sound. thats when i found out i had a blockage. since then, i still have slight ringing in my left ear, and minimal hearing. the VA here in louisiana said the ear was clean, and had reccommended some nose drops because of my nasal passage. im also taking claratin daily. no changes. at times it feels like pressure at the middle of my ear, and and very slight pain with that pressure which makes sense, but what are my next steps to clearing this all up

Hello,

As per your history, I think it may be because of ear wax or any inner ear problems. Do an audiometry, MRI brain after consultation.

You can take tablet Vertin and Otoid ear drops locally after consultation. Treatment for hearing loss will be as per diagnosis.

I will suggest you review here with detailed history or consult with ENT surgeon for detailed examination.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shyam B. Kale
