How Can Tinea Cruris Be Treated?

I was recently diagnosed with a case of tinea cruris and prescribed clotrimazole to be applied twice daily. I work in a very physical job that results in a great deal of chafing to the affected area of my upper thigh/groin. In addition to the use of the prescribed clotrimazole to treat the underlying fungal infection, would it be beneficial in my instance to use an additional compound, such as calamine lotion, to aid in healing the rash?

Welcome to Ask a Doctor online service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As you are already using a cream, applying Calamine lotion will reduce its effect. Itraconazole once a for a week and tablet Cetrizine at bed time to reduce itching.

Hope I have answered your query.
