I am a 42 year old female and have had asthma since a child, I take Singulair at bedtime. For the past 3 weeks I have noticed my throat getting hoarse. I have no sore throat. I keep a drink of water close by but doesn t seem to take away the hoarseness. I have never had this unless I was sick with a cold but in this case I do not.
hello, thanks for your query , in my opinion your change of voice could be due to chronic usage of your inhaler or chronic cough with sputum production of lungs which are affecting the lungs or as you are already 42 yrs reaching premenopause, where hormonal disturbance could be the cause. kindly evaluate with laryngoscopy( visualization of voice box) by an Ent surgeon.. mean time you can start steam inhalation. hope I have answered your query. all the best. take care.
