How Can The Burn On The TOrus Palatinus Be Healed Most Effectively?

I bit into a very hot fried chicken sandwich about a week ago and it burned the heck out of an area on the roof of my mouth called the torus palatinus. Not realizing it s intensity, I have been worsening it by eating chips, cereals, etc. which end up scraping it again and starting pain all over again. It s hard to swallow anything without brushing past it first. How can I heal this burn most effectively?
