How can the appendectomy incision site be healed?

Hello I had an emergency appendectomy 18 days ago. The sterostrips were taken off early. The dr was notified. When I went for my follow up visit 12 days after my surgery the big insicion on my side had a thick scab. The dr said I could put neosporin and bandaids on it. I did , and the scab came off with the bandaid, It was gooey and gross. Now the skin is purple around the insicion. I do not know what to do... I was laid off and do not have insurance for the first time in my life, and this happens....

i recently had an major appendectomy as it was hard to do the easy one because of a past surgery that had created scar tissue. now i seem to have a big bruise on my side and what appears to be blood built up in my scrotum. it is very black and blue. my doctor seems to think it is normal but doesn t say how long it will take for the body to absorb it.

Hi, I had a laparoscopic appendectomy about 2 weeks ago. I haven t had any issues with my recovery so far and the incisions appear to be healing nicely. I play squash at a very high level, and I was told by the surgeons to not play for at least 4 weeks post-op. But I was wondering when I can resume other forms of training again, for example strength exercises using my body weight and hill or stair sprints (usually at a such a high intensity that I occasionally throw up). I have international tournaments coming up in 2 months and would like to start doing whatever training I can to be in form for them without putting my health or recovery at risk. What do you suggest? Thank you for your help.

I had colon resection and appendicitis November 28, 2010. I had developed an infection and they had to cut open the stitches. A home health nurse has been coming and now is down to 3 days and 0 days There appears to be a blood blister on the bottom incision which has previously closed in. I have a top incision which is still open but the problem appears to be on the bottom, closed incision. And, there is now drainage (red) when it had previously stopped. What do you think is happening? I do go to the doctor tomorrow, but I am worried

I have had a rash for almost 2 months now. It started with a small area on my back and moved to the right side of my chest. Now it is on both sides of my chest, scalp, hairline, sides of nose and temples. It is red, raised and did weep for a bit. Now it burns and itches. Treatments have included Neosporin, Cortaid, keflex, steroid cream, which made it spread, prednisone pack which it was clearing with that but when it was done it came back and an inconclusive skin biopsy. The only thing I have done that is different from normal was have a breast biopsy with an implanted clip. Please help me as I am miserable
