How Can Swelling In The Lips Caused By An Injury Be Treated?

I had an accident 2 months ago that caused a cut all the way through my lower lip and required about 20 stitches. It is pretty much healed although it is slightly more sensitive than my top lip. Problem is that the swelling isn t completely gone down. Will it ever go down? Is there anything I can do?

Hello, Thanks for the query.
Usually foloowing the stitches the lip should have healed completely, including the disappearance of swelling. If it has not yet completely gone, it may take a bit longer than usual. You may apply some ice over it twice a day (held in a cloth). That should help. If still it doesn't go do see your doctor. Thanks.
