Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How Can Swelling And Pain In The Right Knee Be Treated?
A few months ago I had fallen on my right knee directly. I was walking up some stairs and tripped and ended up hitting my right knee directly on the corner of the stair. At the time it was bruised and swollen and hurt to walk on. I never went and got any treatment for it, but to this day it still hurts to do certain things. I am unable to put direct pressure on it. There is also an indent and I feel as if I can move tiny fragments of something on my knee. Not sure if that was a good description I just need help.
Since, it has been a few months and you are still experiencing tenderness in the knee it is advisable to get an x-ray of the affected knee as soon as possible. It is likely that you suffered internal injury and it has not healed properly.
I would also advise you to get yourself checked by an orthopedician as soon as possible. Meanwhile, you can take an over the counter painkiller like Advil for pain relief.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Nazma Amman
