How Can Swelling And Pain In The Head Be Treated?

I hit my head against a shelf and got a small swelling. This happend 14 years back and tht swelling is still there. There was immense pain at that moment but after two days the pain went off. Swelling remains. Today i banged my head again and got a swelling..i used cool water on tht area and the swelling still exists. Guess its gonna be there like forever....i didnt get vomiting or nausea or any other discomfort apart from the pain i had when i banged the wall

I can understand your concern.
By your history and description, possibility of Hematoma formation at the injury site is more likely.
Ice pack application is good. Along with this, also start painkiller and anti inflammatory drugs for 1 week.
Complete resolution of swelling will take 1 month.
If swelling still persist after 1 month, you will will need surgical removal (incision and drainage).
