How Can Swelling And Pain In The Arm Be Treated?

I burned my arm on a hit pan on Monday. It blistered and on Wednesday the blister popped. Ive kept it clean and it shows all signs of healing normally. However today the area around burn has become red, my arm is slightly swollen and sore and I can feel a hard knot under the burn mark.

Hi,
Welcome to Healthcaremagic.com.

I had gone through your question I can understand your concern about your burn and post burn inflammation.

As per your history it seems to me the burn has started the signs of infection. Though the burn has inflamed tissue which is red, swollen and tender to touch but if after 2days it has started new signs of inflammation that means it can be post burn infection
You need to take plenty of of fluids, and also if you feel feverish you must take medication in consultation with your physician, during mean time you can take Antibiotics like levofloxicin.
Also keep your burn clean and use antiseptic solution to prevent further contamination.

Hope my answer will help you,
Regards
