How Can Stitches On The Lip Be Treated?

Hello I got stitches on my lower lip on Wednesday today is Saturday. It s hard to explain but, I opened my mouth to wide and the stitches pulled to the side so it tore some of my skin apart from it but the stitches are still there what do I do? It was bleeding a little bit but it stopped. Is that a problem? Or what should I do? How much longer will it take to heal? What can I do so it won t get infected?

Hi.
Thanks for the query..

It looks like due to over stretching of the skin there is tearing of skin from the stitches that has led to bleeding and pain.
If there is a lesion formed then there can be infection and scarring..

So my suggestion is to first get checked clinically by an Emergency doctor and if the skin is completely torn away then it can leave a car while healing so you need to get the stitches re done..

If there is no much tearing then you can leave it as it is and let it heal..
You can continue applying antiseptic ointment over it to avoid infection..
Keep the area clean and do not touch it again and again..

Hope this helps..

Regards..
