How Can Sore Throat And Earache Be Treated?

I had a flu shot yesterday and now have a sore throat & ear ache. I have amoxicilan, Clindamycin or doxycycline available. I have asthma and I get bronchitis is I do not take antibiotics immediately. I had a stint put in 4/3/17. Which one will be the mildest to start taking tonight? YYYY@YYYY

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of sore throat and earache probably occurring due to viral infection and due to eustachian tube dysfunction. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination. Doctor may order throat swab test, complete blood profile and examine ear with otoscope . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics drugs (acyclovir) for a week along with decongestants and anti inflammatory. For now do warm saline gargles , take steam , take proper rest , keep yourself hydrated and apply dry hot compresses to ear. For now take ibuprofen for pain.
