General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

According to your history it seems to be acute tonsillitis like presentation. For that if presentation is severe than only steroid (you have prescribed) can be taken otherwise for congestion relief decongestant like Phenylephrine is beneficial Diluted Betardine gargle also can be prescribed. Drink more water. Avoid excess spicy foods and fatty meals Use hot water for drinking as having soothing effect. Salt water gargle (one tsp salt added in glass of hot water) done three times a day If no improvement than throat swab taken for culture and sensitivity. Take care. Consult physician for examination with keeping all this in mind.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Parth Goswami
