How Can Sinusitis And Cough Be Treated?

I m taking an antibiotic for a sinus infection that settled in my chest. I have been coughing up phlegm and blowing my nose but now there s no phlegm. It s just this dry cough and loud wheezing in my chest. And I get a little dizzy. What s up? I m 60 years old and have never experienced this before!

Hello
Welcome to health care magic.

You have got acute bacterial sinusitis.
I would like to know since how long have u started with antibiotics?
It is treated by antibiotics like erythro/doxycycline/augmentin for 5-7 days.
Steam inhalation with mucinex capsule and cough expectorant 2tsp twice a day will give you some relief from chest and nasal congestion
Antihistaminic like oral cetrizine once a day for 3-5 days.
-Avoid smoking or exposure to second hand smoke, cold environment or environmental pollutants.
If wheezing continues or if there is appearance of any breathing difficulty, visit your physician.Certain investigation like Xray and spirometry may be considered.
Get your blood haemogram, blood pressure and fasting blood glucose level checked as you are also feeling dizzy to rule out hypertension and diabetes mellitus.

Hope this information helps.
Wish you good health.
