How Can Sickle Cell Anemia Pain Be Controlled And Treated?

Hi my sister is 37years old and has a condition called sicklecell aniemia, she has been suffering due to this condition a fracture in her spine. She has seen her Doctors and has been told that there is not anything that she can take to stop it from getting worse.
She also is in constant pain and I am worried for her as she is so down and in pain. Is there anything that can help her from being in pain all the time?
