Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband is into his fifth week of shingles and just started with a bloodshot eye today. Wondering if it s related to the shingles at all. I read shingles can be very damaging to the eyes if it gets to that area. He is past the blistering stage, but still has a lot of the pain which has subsided somewhat.
I had gone through your question I can understand your concern about your husbands herpes zoster.
As your husband is in recovery stage and it also seems to me according to your history that ophthalmic division was not primarily involved, so there are little chances at this stage to get another division involved.
But if you feel the infection is there and eye is too much red associated with new fever and pain you need to visit an emergency room too.
Hope my answer will help you and visit us back if you have any further questions.
Regards Dr Muzaffer Hussain Parray.
