How Can Severe Stress And Depression Be Treated?

I just turned 65 and I am low income, medical covered my meds and I am trying to find some help paying for them. I have quite a few things wrong with me, so I have quite a few meds I need. I now have been without for 4 months. I m alone and I really don t know how to get started. My husband died 5 years ago and he took care of everything. Three years ago I became depressed and had to be put on medication. I have tried to talk to my doctor he only wants to see me once a month and write scripts. I have lupus, hypothyroid, fibromyalgia , hypertension, stomach problems, depression, restless leg. I pretty sure most are the result of my having cancer of the cervix in 1979.

I'm sorry for your loss and for what your going through. sometimes life can be quite overwhelming. your doctor has already put you on medication for your conditions so I would advice you to continue taking them. as for your question regarding depression besides medical treatment it is very important to look for other ways to fight it.
1. first of all try to spend some time doing things that would keep your nerves calm, it could be a simple walk, exercise, meditation or just waking up early morning and going out in the fresh air
2. adopt a hobby to keep yourself busy, when your busy you don't get much time to think
3. go out and socialize with people with similar interests, company is a natural antidepressant
4. when in panic or too much anxiety practice breathing exercises
I wish you good health and happiness...
