How Can Severe Pain In The Knees Be Treated?

I have been having severe pain in both of my knees, especially inside on my right leg. I have pain that travels on both sides of my body and in my lower back. I keep having sharp pains in my groin and find it is worse after I have slept all night. Sometimes the pain is on my right side, sometimes on the left side and now it seems to be on both sides and in my lower back and groin.. This has been going on for about a month now. I went to my n p and she told me to take 1000 mg of tyenol three times a day and 600 mg of motrin three times a day and take oomeprazole 30 minutes before breakfast. Won t 4800 mg of pills a day be a little much. I need a different opionion I think.

Hi,
Welcome to Healthcaremagic.com.

I had gone through your question I can understand your concern about your pain in legs.

As per your history you seem to be having osteoarthritis, which is an anti inflammatory disease of joints.

Yes the medication you have been prescribed is not as per the clinical dosage you need either of the one. Because both of it is non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs. Having same effect on the body. You may need only one of the two. Either paracetamol or ibuprofen.

In my opinion you must avoid both the above and take DICLOFENAC potassium twice daily and pantoprazole 40 mg empty stomach daily before breakfast.

Also visit an orthodontic specialist for further evaluation.

Hope my answer will help you and visit us back if you have any questions further.
