How Can Severe Pain Around A MIC Key Feeding Tube Be Treated?

My husband has a MIC Key feeding tube and it was put in Dec 13, 17. He originally had a peg tube put in on Sept 13 this year and once the stoma had healed, the tube was changed to the MIC Key. No problems with the MIC Key until 24hours ago when he started to get severe pain at the site and it goes right through to his back, directly behind the tube. He is able to feed and nothing leaks, however it is extremely painful for him to attach the external tube etc. No fever at all.
