How Can Severe Left Knee Pain Be Treated For Patients With Arthritis?

Yes hello, the past week or so I've had a sharp pain in my left knee that attacks randomly without warning. I am 71 and the knee has no other problems. No swelling no Rennes, all normal. I do have arthritis and degeneration in my lower lumbar. Thank you.
