I had knee replacement surgery that did not come out well and 3 years later I am still taking oxycontin and oxymorphone, the past 10 or more days I quit cold turkey, it was hard but each day got easier, my problem is that I still have level 10 pain in my knee, my pain doctor does not know that I quit all the pills, I feel better everyday as I find myself feeling more normal but what can I do about the pain, over the counter meds do not help to ease the pain at all garnergoode@ AOL.com

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

You have knee replacement surgery before 3 years now you have no possibly but only pain. It means that all is well but there may be fiction between your bones or strain in your knee ligaments that will lead to pain. So, it can be relieved by physiotherapy exercise but it will take 2 to 3 weeks.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
